What's New in eSignature DocuSign

This update makes sending and tracking a document feel less like a chore: a smarter, guided Envelope Wizard, two brand-new capabilities customers have been asking for, and a round of improvements to DocuSign Templates, recipient management, and overall reliability - all included automatically, with nothing extra to buy or configure beyond turning the new features on.

Nine improvements across five areas of the product in this release.

 IMPROVED   A Guided, Step-by-Step Way to Send

Improved: The Envelope Wizard

·         Turn on Use Envelope Wizard and sending a document becomes a clear, guided walk-through - recipients, fields to fill in, attachments, and a final review - instead of one dense screen to get right all at once.

·         Steps adapt to what actually applies: Fields to Fill In only appears when a Template has something to fill in, and Attachments is skipped entirely for a Template send, so nobody is offered a step that would not do anything.

·         One toggle turns it on for every user from the DocuSign Administration page - no per-user setup needed.

 NEW   Automatically Attach Your Standard Documents

New: Standard Attachments

·         Configure a catalog of documents you always want included - a legal disclaimer, terms and conditions, an informative cover sheet - once, and eSignature DocuSign attaches them to every new envelope automatically, no matter who is sending it.

·         Nothing to remember at send time: turn a document Active and it is simply there from then on.

·         Still flexible per envelope - remove a standard attachment from one specific envelope and it will not be added back to that same envelope.

 IMPROVED   The Signed Document Comes Back to You Automatically

Improved: Document Attachments

·         The moment an envelope is completed, the fully signed PDF is filed directly onto the original Sales, Purchase, Service, or Job document's own attachments - no need to open DocuSign, or even look up the envelope in Business Central, to find it.

·         Works the same way whether the completion is picked up by the background status check or arrives instantly through DocuSign's own notification, so it is there reliably either way.

 NEW   Know the Moment a Document Is Signed

New: Email Completion Notifications

·         Get an email automatically the moment an envelope is Completed, Declined, or Voided - no more checking status manually.

·         Choose who is notified: the person who sent it, a fixed distribution list, or the document's own salesperson or purchaser.

·         Works alongside the existing automatic bounce detection, so a bad recipient email address gets flagged (or the envelope safely voided) without anyone needing to notice it themselves.

 IMPROVED   Smarter DocuSign Template Sending

Improved: DocuSign Templates

·         The subject and message you type is now exactly what DocuSign sends when an envelope goes out from a Template - previously a Template send could fall back to the template's own default text.

 IMPROVED   Easier Recipient Management

Improved: Recipients & Voiding

·         Remind a recipient, or correct a mistyped email address, without cancelling and resending the whole envelope.

·         Void an envelope with a recorded reason, and get a notification that correctly reflects the envelope's voided status instead of still asking the recipient to sign.

 IMPROVED   Rock-Solid Reliability, Wherever You Work

Improved: Under the Hood

·         Verified consistent behavior across every supported Business Central language, after tracking down and fixing a send failure that only occurred under certain languages.

·         Fixed an occasional error that could interrupt sending or voiding an envelope right when you needed it to just work.

All of this is included in your existing eSignature DocuSign subscription. Update to version 28.1.0.4 and turn on the new features from the DocuSign Administration page.
