The extension is read-only and runs only in sandbox environments. It never changes your Business Central data. For an overview of what the Health Check does, see [Introducing the NAV SEAL Health Check for Business Central](link to article).

Version 1.0 is the first public release of the NAV SEAL Health Check. It includes:
45 checks in eight areas: Environment, Extensions, Setup, Data Quality, Dimensions, Operations, Security, and Integrations. Checks that apply to the whole environment, such as users and installed apps, run once per scan. All other checks run once for each company.
Findings with recommendations. Each finding shows what was checked and why, what was found, the number of records affected, up to 10 example records you can open directly, and a recommended action.
Four severity levels: High, Medium, Low, and Info. Findings can be reviewed and adjusted before sharing. You can change the severity, add a consultant note, or leave a finding out of the report.
A printable findings report that can be saved as PDF or Word. It includes an environment summary, findings grouped by severity, and an appendix of every check that was run.
An Excel export with Summary, Findings, and Checks sheets.
A dedicated role center with shortcuts to run a scan, open the latest results, and export, plus counters by severity and area.
Company filtering, so you can scan all companies, one company, or a selection.
Scan data management, so you can delete individual scan runs or all scan data before handing back a sandbox.

Before installing, make sure you have the following. First, Business Central online, version 28 or later. Second, a sandbox environment; a recent copy of production gives the most useful results. Third, a user with the NSHC HEALTH CHECK permission set, plus D365 BASIC or the delegated admin role.
The scan will not start in a production environment. If you need a sandbox, create a copy of production in the Business Central admin center first.

To run your first scan, choose Run Scan, leave the Company Filter blank to scan all companies, and choose OK. A scan usually takes a few minutes, and longer on large databases.
For the full steps, including reviewing findings and preparing the report, see the user manual.

The extension stores all data in its own tables. To remove it, optionally choose Delete All Scan Data on the Scan Runs page. Then, in Extension Management, uninstall the NAV SEAL Health Check with Delete Extension Data selected, and choose Unpublish. If the scan ran in a temporary copy of production, you can simply delete the sandbox instead.

Up to 10 example records are stored per finding. The total number of affected records is always shown, and the standard Business Central pages list all of them. The limits the checks use, such as 180 days for old open entries, are fixed in this version. Contact NAV SEAL if your business needs different limits. If the scanning user can't read a table that a check needs, that check is recorded as an Info finding and the scan continues with the other checks.
