How to Set Up eSignature DocuSign for the First Time
- Install the extension. Go to Extension Management → Upload Extension. The license and DocuSign connection logic are built in, so no separate app is needed.
- Launch the Setup Guide. In Extension Management, find eSignature DocuSign and choose Set up this app (or search Assisted Setup).
- Connect to DocuSign. Select Open DocuSign Apps & Keys to find your User ID and API Account ID on DocuSign's admin page. Enter both, then select Connect to DocuSign — this opens a DocuSign sign-in and consent screen. Approve access, return to Business Central, and select Refresh Status to confirm it shows Connected.
- Activate your license. Your Tenant ID is detected automatically. Select Request a License to email NAV SEAL your details. Once NAV SEAL confirms, come back and select Refresh Status — License Status will update to Active.
- Set up notifications (optional). Configure who gets emailed when an envelope completes, is declined, or voided — or skip this and set it up later from DocuSign Administration.
- Turn it on. Enable Activate DocuSign now to let users start sending immediately (this also schedules the background job that keeps statuses current), then select Finish.

You can re-run this guide any time — for example after rotating API keys — from the Run Setup Guide action on the DocuSign Administration page. Running it again never overwrites report or anchor settings you've already configured.
