Sign Anything, Without Leaving Business Central: What's Inside eSignature DocuSign v 28.1.1.1

Sign Anything, Without Leaving Business Central: What's Inside eSignature DocuSign v 28.1.1.1

Released: October 2026

Compatible with: Business Central online, version 28 and later

Alert
Version 28.1.1.1

eSignature DocuSign from NAV SEAL removes that round trip. You send a Business Central document or record to DocuSign for signature with one action. The status flows back on its own, and the signed PDF is filed onto the record when everyone has signed.

Info
1. One action, 20+ document types

Select Send with DocuSign on any of these:

The Envelope Wizard walks the sender through recipients, the e-mail subject and body, and attachments. Recipients can be pulled from the document's own contacts.

Info
2. Two ways to build the document

·         Report and anchor flow. Send the Business Central report you already use. Signature fields are placed automatically at anchor text such as "Sign here". This suits one-off or standard layouts.

·         DocuSign Templates (Premium). Design the document, signature placement and fields once in DocuSign. Business Central fills it in and sends it. Layout changes happen in DocuSign, not in AL or report code.

Info
3. Fill DocuSign from Business Central, and write answers back

On a template you can map Business Central fields to:

·         recipient-facing tabs on the document

·         sender fields from DocuSign Document Generation

·         custom fields on the envelope

It also works in reverse. A value the signer types, or a field's final value, can be written back into a Business Central field when the envelope completes. For example, a signer confirms a delivery date and it lands on the order. The lookups only offer tables that belong to the document types the template is assigned to, so a wrong mapping is hard to make by accident.

Info
4. Always know where a document stands

·         Envelope status is synced back automatically through a scheduled Job Queue entry, or on demand with Check Status.

·         Recipient-level status shows who has signed and who has not.

·         Automatic delivery-failure detection checks every in-flight envelope for a bounced address.

·         A permanent bounce, such as a typo or a dead mailbox, voids the envelope and records the reason.

·         A transient bounce, such as a full mailbox, leaves the envelope alone and raises a Delivery Issue notification so a person can decide.

·         Remind or Correct resends to a signer, optionally with a corrected name or e-mail.

·         Void an envelope with a recorded reason.

·         A DocuSign Role Center with cues gives a quick view of envelopes by status.

Info
5. The signed document comes home

When an envelope completes, the signed PDF (including the DocuSign summary) is downloaded and attached to the source document or record. Nobody needs to remember to do it, and duplicate webhook deliveries from DocuSign are detected and skipped.

Info
6. Notifications that reach the right person

Optional e-mail notifications go out when an envelope is Completed, Declined, Voided, or has a Delivery Issue. They are off until you configure them, and they disable themselves automatically when they cannot work, rather than failing repeatedly.

Info
7. Confidential templates

Mark a template Confidential and everything it produces is protected: the envelope, its documents, its log lines and the signed PDF filed back. Only users with DocuSign Confidential Access ticked on their User Setup row can open, preview or download it. Everyone else sees a clear message instead of the file. Self-granting is blocked: only existing holders or SUPER users can grant access.

Info
8. Your wording, your standard attachments

·         Default e-mail subject and body per document type, with admin-defined %1, %2, … placeholders that read values from the document.

·         Standard Attachments: a catalog of documents, such as terms or a cover sheet, added to every new envelope automatically.

Info
9. Setup in minutes, with an audit trail

·         A guided Setup Guide handles the DocuSign connection (JWT authentication, with developer/demo and production environments) and consent.

·         Test Connection and a plain-language failed-connection diagnosis are built in.

·         API Log, Envelope Logs and Events record what was sent to and received from DocuSign.

Alert
10. Editions

·         Standard: send Business Central documents using reports.

·         Premium: adds DocuSign Templates, field mapping with write-back, and sending from Vendor, Customer, Bank Account, Item and Employee cards.
